5th-11th November: SPEAK Week is coming!

Every year, dedicated SPEAK members take a week in November to hit the streets and share their love of justice with the world, and raise money for SPEAK in the process. This year is no exception! Around the country, SPEAK groups will be out there, doing wild and exciting things that catch the imagination of the whole community...

...Whether it’s hosting a SPEAK-a-Thon Cabaret night, getting involved in the Bardic Bike Tour, or coming up with your own campaign-action fundraiser (like Jenny in St Andrews, who is still diligently sewing the sermon on the mount onto a bedsheet. Keep going, Jenny!), we’d love to know what you’re up to!

To get involved, all you have to do it set up a sponsorship form at charitygiving, and let us know what you’re planning to do. Stuck for ideas? Give the Network Support Team a call, or drop us an email on speak@speak.org.uk.

The Network Support Team are getting in on the action, hosting (with a little help from the London Network) a Cabaret Evening on the 7th November at The Gallery Café, Bethnal Green. There’ll be standup comedy, live music and a special appearance by World Champion Slam Poet Harry Baker! A number of people are already plotting a leg of the Bardic Tour along the bank of the Thames. We’d love to see you there if you think you can make it!

And even if you can’t get in on the fundraising action, SPEAK Week is a great chance get your friends together to fill in the latest Pray and Postcard, host an event in your church or standing in the middle of the street getting signatures – in solidarity with the whole network, sharing the SPEAK message with as many people as possible.
