Our current economic system is obsessed with growth and is at the heart of so many of the world's other issues. You don't have to be an economist to see that in a finite world this is unsustainable...
Ever felt frustrated by the constant talk of economic growth on the main news media? Ever wondered how we can have everlasting growth on a finite planet? Ever wished there was an alternative way to organise our economy that respected the restraints of finite resources and human and planetary wellbeing? Well, surprise, surprise, some people are thinking and planning an alternative economic strategy – and they’re not loonies, but respected economists. It’s just that you never hear them on the Today programme or read their thinking in the mainstream newspapers.
 
SPEAK are taking action to find alternative ecnomic models in three main threads. We are joining with Christian Ecology Link and A Rocha UK in the revolutionary project 'Joy in Enough'. We are also launching a creative joint campaign with Music Speaks project called 'Take a Stanza'. And we're campaigning with Christian Aid on tax justice.
